If I only use basic functionalities, the software can also sync to cloud services (like Google Drive) or via FTP client. My opinion- FreeFileSync is a robust program but its developer is a scoundrel.

I do believe that this 'consistency check' is malicious by intent- this check makes the extraction of the installer useless (I was able to extract using InnoExtractor) and forces the users to run the ads-ridden installer. Pls confirm my understanding before I go opening ports in firewalls etc. I presume one would need to run an SFTP client on the NAS to get them talking, as the RN104 only supoprts FTPS natively (and open the relevant ports and NAT to the NAS on the inbound router). It is designed to save your time setting up and running data backups while having nice visual feedback along the way.
